ROOM TIPS

-
Upon move-in, the only
items found in the room are two beds, a chest of drawers, two desks with
chairs, and the sink. All other furniture desired must be brought in by
the student.
-
The two beds in the room
are easily bunkable by simply putting both the headboards onto one bed frame
and stacking the other upon the pegs. Bunking the beds is a great way to
free up some floor space.
-
Some popular items found
in rooms include refrigerators, microwaves, carpet, couches or futons,
computers, stereos, TVs, VCRs, coffee tables, game systems, posters, as well
as many more.
-
Items forbidden in the
rooms include road signs, candles, alcohol bottles (even empty), toaster
ovens, hot plates, just to mention a few. A handbook given at the
beginning of the year lists forbidden items. If any are found in your
room, they will be confiscated!
-
As safe as the building
is, items are occasionally stolen from unlocked rooms. Always lock your
door!
-
Taping up posters is a
good way to decorate, but don't nail holes into the wall!
-
When the holidays come
around, Christmas lights strung around the room are a popular decor.
-
Hanging anything from
the ceiling is forbidden. Just don't do it!
-
Quiet hours in the
building are daily from midnight until 8am, and 24 hours during Finals week.
However, complaints for excessive noise can be called to the front desk or
on-call RA.
