Student Recreation and Wellness Center
- Membership Information
Membership information for individuals and family plans is available
by contacting the Student Recreation & Wellness Center Reception
Desk, or by calling (270) 809-6000. Guest passes, as well as annual
memberships, are available for members of the University community,
retirees, alumni, and family members.
Memberships may be purchased either by semester or annually. Semester
memberships include fall, spring and summer terms. Terms are as
follows: Fall: August 1 — December 31, Spring: January 1 —
May 31, Summer: June 1 — July 31.
Membership Eligibility and Fees
All students at Murray State University pay a fee for use of the
Student Recreation and Wellness Center. All other eligible users
of this facility are required to pay a membership fee as well. Membership
guidelines are identified below.
- Full Time Faculty & Staff are eligible to purchase memberships
in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. All faculty
and staff will pay faculty/staff membership fees regardless of
taking classes.
Membership fees are based upon salary level at Murray State University.
Level I: Salary less than $20,000
$36/semester;
$25/summer; $97/year
Level II: Salary of $20,000 - $45,000
$46/semester;
$25/summer; $117/year
Level III: Salary greater than $45,000
$56/semester;
$25/summer; $137/year
- Adjuncts and Part Time Staff are eligible to purchase memberships
in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Membership fees
are Level I. Please refer to fee information listed under Full
Time Faculty & Staff.
- Temporary Full Time Staff are eligible to purchase memberships
in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Memberships are
based upon salary level. Please refer to fee information listed
under Full Time Faculty & Staff.
- MSU Retirees are eligible to purchase memberships in the Student
Recreation and Wellness Center. Membership fees are Level I. Please
refer to fee information listed under Full Time Faculty & Staff.
- MSU Alumni can be eligible to purchase memberships in the Student
Recreation and Wellness Center. To be eligible, MSU Alumni must
make a minimum annual unrestricted gift of $250 to the Annual
Fund of the university. Memberships are level III. Please refer
to the fee information listed under Full Time Faculty & Staff.
- Spouse of student, faculty, staff, and retiree and alumni members
can purchase a membership at the same level as the primary member.
Spouse of students will pay $36/semester. Students and spouses
will have summer membership automatically if they are members
in the spring. A new membership for a spouse of a student
for the summer only will be $15.
- Children, ages 5 — 18, of primary members may have a
membership purchased for them. The membership fee will be $20/semester;
$10/summer; $50/year. No children under the age of 5 will be allowed
in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
- Children, ages 19 — 21, of primary members may have a
membership purchased for them. The membership fee level will be
the same as the primary member.
9. Businesses can join through the university's Town and Gown
program and be eligible
to purchase two memberships.
All faculty, staff and family member fees can be assessed through payroll deduction
or can be paid by cash, check or credit card. All other fees will
be paid by check or cash. Membership fees are non-refundable except
for moving from the area, being no longer employed at Murray State
University, or medical problems.
Application Procedure for Membership
- Go to the Racercard Office if you are a student, Room 101,
Curris Center or at the Wellness Center if you are faculty, staff,
spouse, alumni or town and gown member(after donation made to
development office)
- Provide proof of identity
- Sign all necessary waivers
- Membership cards will be issued to all members age 5 and above. Children
under 16 years of age must be accompanied at all times by an adult.
Access to the Student Recreation and Wellness
Center

Access to the Center is gained at the main entrance by presenting a valid
MSU I.D. or Membership Card.
- Individuals, who have special entry needs due to a physical disability,
may request assistance from the attendant stationed at the reception desk.
- Any I.D. of a suspicious nature, or not belonging to the bearer, may be
confiscated immediately. The bearer and/or owner may face disciplinary action.
- Please report lost cards to staff as soon as possible.
- The staff reserves the right to ask for additional identification at any
time.
- Guests are required to be accompanied by the sponsoring member and present
valid guest pass for entry.
