Wireless Quick Connection Guide
Murray State University faculty, staff, students, and guests may connect their laptops to the MSUwireless network.
For faculty, staff, and students using personally-owned laptops:
- Scan for wireless access points and connect to the MSUwireless network.
- Once connected, open an Internet browser. You will be automatically re-directed to the Bluesocket login page.
- Enter your network username and password on the left-hand side of the page under Registered Users. Be sure to check the "Terms of Use" box before clicking the "Log In" button.
For Murray State-owned laptops that are on the MSUNET2K domain:
- Log in to the computer as you normally would. Scan for wireless access points and connect to the MSUwireless network.
- Once connected, lock your computer (press Windows + L, or press Ctrl + Alt + Delete then the Lock Computer button).
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete again and enter your network password to unlock your computer. You should now have access to any previously mapped network drives.
For guests to the University:
Guests to the University may obtain basic wireless internet access by doing the following:
- Connect to the MSUGuestWireless network.
- Once connected, open an internet browser. You will be automatically redirected to the Bluesocket login page.
- Click the link in the middle of the page to create a Guest Account. Follow the on-screen instructions.
If you are a guest and need more than basic internet access, you may fill out the Guest Wireless Request Form and return it to the Helpdesk. All guests with special requirements must have a university sponsor.
Note: If you are a University department and are hosting guests that require special wireless access, you may request guest accounts for them in advance. Please contact the Helpdesk for more information.
