Meet the Staff of the Women's CenterJane Etheridge - Director
In addition, she serves on the Calloway County Domestic Violence Coalition and is one of Kentucky 's state coordinators for the annual National Eating Disorders Awareness and Prevention Week. She is also a Kentucky Colonel and served as the Counseling Director of the Governor Scholars Program from 1992-94. Jane is currently involved each summer with the Commonwealth Honors Academy at Murray State as the Counseling Director. Ms. Etheridge completed her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology at the University of Tennessee and earned a Master of Science in clinical psychology from Murray State in 1990. She holds a teaching certificate and has seven years of teaching experience, primarily with gifted children. Ms. Etheridge resides with her family in Paris , TN. She and her husband, John, have four children, three sons and a daughter. Recently Jane became a grandmother for the first time with the birth of her grandson this past year.
My name is Laura Holt; I am a graduate student of the Mass Communications department along with the new Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Center! I am a Murray native, but will be moving soon to St. Louis , MO because I am getting married. The Women’s Center is an amazing place with amazing ideas on prevention education, programs; pretty much you name it the Center probably has an idea for it! I have quickly fallen in love with the Center and the staff and I am looking forward to the new adventures that I will be embracing this semester. Amber Marable Hi my name is Amber and I’m a sophomore from Waverly, TN. I enjoy art work, hanging with my friends, and learning Japanese. It is my first time working at the women’s center and I can’t wait to start!
Hello! My name is Coop and I am a senior marketing major here at Murray State this year. I was born and raised in the rural area of Southern Illinois . I love hanging out with my friends – being goofy, watching movies, shopping, and meeting new people. I enjoy being involved around campus and feel that the Women’s Center is a very worthwhile cause. I am also a member of Campus Outreach, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority Vice President, ODK President and work in the Registrar’s office at Sparks Hall. While on the Women’s Center Staff I hope to impact the lives of my co-workers as well as help to make important issues more public on campus and in the community!
Ciao! I'm Anna Floyd and I'm from a small small town called Morganfield, KY. I'm a senior political science/secondary education major and have been at the Women's Center since Fall '04. I love having the opportunity to affect the world through the Center. I'm a squirrel--an Alpha Gam squirrel, part of one of the best sororities! I'll be graduating in December, but will be leaving Murray after May to student teach in either Louisville or Henderson. I absolutely can't wait to have my own high school classroom. Traveling, singing, and reading are my three absolute favorite things to do. Oh, and dancing. I love life and can't wait to get out there and make a difference!
Hi! My name is April Whitten and I’m a sophomore from Mayfield , KY. I am the new editor of the WC News and Views Newsletter and I am very excited about it. I am studying Public Relations and Marketing and I am part of the wonderful sisterhood of Alpha Sigma Alpha. I love to write, play soccer, and just be silly. This is my first year volunteering at the WC and I am so glad to be a part of this fantastic organization.
My name is Ashley Stanton and I am currently working on my Ed. S. degree in Community Counseling. I am from Leitchfield , KY but I hope to stay in this area after I am done with my degree. I am very excited about completing my practicum here at the Women’s Center underneath Jane, and getting to know all about the center. I love the counseling profession and can’t wait till I am apart of it one day
Hi! My name is Julia Buckman, and I am a Senior studying Human Resource Management from Waverly, KY. I am an Alpha Sigma Alpha ladybug, and I love photographs and world travel. I’m very interested in Human Resources, Economics, and International Business. I hope to have a successful business career in a big city. This is my fourth year at the Women’s Center, so I’ve been around for quite a while. But I’m so happy to see so many new faces at the WC!
I am a junior from Paducah, KY (Quilt Captial of the World!) I'm a double major in History and French,and I have 7 fish and a hermit crab named Mary Wall stonecrab. I'm also a memeber of Murray STate Empowerment of Women; I'm excited to work at the Women's Center because I know we're making a positive change for the women on campus
Hi, I am a junior Special Education major from Dawson Springs , Ky. Last year I was a mentor in The G.R.O.W. program, which I loved and this year I am a co-coordinator for G.R.OW. I enjoy watching movies, scrapbooking and hanging out with friends. I look forward to my first year working in the women’s Center.

Hi! My name is Meghan, but some people around here call me “Poodles.” While this is my first year working in the WC, I am a third year MSU student and no stranger to the center. This is also my third year working with the Vagina Monologues, and this year I am co-director. I love to read, write, and paint. I am a little zany, but it keeps life interesting. I love to work with people and raise support and awareness for women’s issues – and would love to change the world one day through educational coordinating and advocacy for women!
I am a sophomore from the wonderful city of Memphis , TN. I am a complete girly girl and I am addicted to Hello Kitty. I have a concentration in Nursing and this is my second year working at the Women’s Center. I love it here because not only do we do a lot of influential things we also are pretty close. I can’t wait to start the year off to coordinate and participate in events and to meet all of you! Patrick Greenwell- H.E.A.T. President I’m Patrick, a senior from Bardstown , KY studying Computer Science here at Murray . I enjoy watching movies and TV, reading good sci-fi novels, playing around on the internet and basically anything that deals with my major. I’m working at the Women’s Center as the H.E.A.T. President to help spread knowledge around the campus and better educate my peers as well as learning a few things myself.
Hola! I’m a junior from Northern Ky. Go BENGALS! This is my second year at the Women’s Center and I think it is an amazing resource for both men and women on campus. I was a mentor for G.R.O.W. last year. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. This year is exciting because I am co-coordinating G.R.O.W. with the lovely Miss Laura. I have always considered myself a feminist and am very excited to work at the women’s center this semester.
Hey! I am a freshman at Murray this year, majoring in Chemistry (pre-med) and Literature. I am originally from India , but I have lived in Murray for the past three years. I love reading and anything related to books (that’s why I’m hoping to get to catalog all the books in the Women’s Centre library). I am looking forward to an excellent year working here at the Women’s Center
Hello to all! This is my first year here at Murray state from Glen Carbon, IL. I am majoring in music education. I started working on the Women’s center because it seems like a wonderful place with good people and a great cause. I hope to one day work in a school district to help add no only education, but guidance to students’ lives.
