The Doctor of Arts (DA) program is English Pedagogy and Technology combines advanced
coursework in English content areas while emphasizing pedagogical theory, reflective
practice, and the use of instructional technology to enhance the abilities of current
teachers of English at secondary and post-secondary levels. It also provides avenues
for students hoping to teach English in dual-credit, developmental, adult education
and literacy programs.
The program is designed on a cohort model, whereby students in each cohort form a
learning community and network of imagination, reflection, and support. Courses in
the program are offered in traditional, weekender, online, hybrid, and reflective-practice
formats. The program may be completed entirely online, entirely on-campus, or through
flexible combination of modes.
