Ed.D. Program in P-20 and Community Leadership

Ed.D. program overview

The Ed.D. in P-20 and Community Leadership program follows the executive-style cohort model and is designed to be completed in three years. The cohort meets (on campus or via Zoom) four weekends in the fall semester and three in the spring semester with the balance of the work being completed online. The program can be completed 100% online.

Ed.D. program specializations

Postsecondary specialization

The specialization in Postsecondary Leadership is designed for individuals serving in leadership roles in postsecondary institutions, including community colleges and four-year public and four-year private colleges and universities. This specialization may also be applicable for individuals serving institutions of higher education through community agencies, governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, or private/consulting organizations.

Agriculture Education specialization

The specialization in Agriculture Education prepares graduates to work with people involved in a vast array of agricultural fields. The curriculum emphasizes the development of leadership capabilities, communication skills, and research competence. The concentration is multidisciplinary and is designed to develop students for leadership positions in local, state, regional, and national organizations and agencies involved in the agriculture industry. This specialization is offered through an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Hutson School of Agriculture. 

pK-12 specialization

The specialization in pK-12 Leadership is designed for pK-12 educators with significant leadership experience at the state, district, and/or school level. This specialization may also be applicable for individuals serving the pK-12 population in community agencies, governmental agencies, or private/consulting organizations.

STEM specialization

STEM Leadership is designed for individuals with a Master's degree in a STEM field who have leadership experience in a P-20 setting. This specialization is offered through an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Jesse D. Jones College of Science, Engineering, and Technology.

Ed.S. to Ed.D. specialization

The Ed.S. to Ed.D. bridge program is designed for individuals who hold an Ed.S. degree from a regionally-accredited institution and who are interested in pursuing a terminal degree. Up to 30 credit hours can be transferred into the
Ed.D. program based on faculty review.
