Who has influenced you the most in your life and why?

My parents have definitely influenced me the most in my life. From a very young age, they've always been supportive of everything I've been involved in and back me up 110 percent in any and all of my ventures. It really makes it easier to have that peace of mind that they will always be there for me.

What first sparked your interest in your chosen field?

Being a part of FBLA in high school, I quickly gained an interest in business. It is just a field that captures and holds my attention.

What do you want to do after graduation?

I would like to pursue an MBA, either here or at another institution.

Why did you select Murray State?

After my two years at a junior college, I didn't really know my next step. One of my good friends from high school was enrolled at Murray State and told me to come down one weekend and check out the campus, and that’s all it took. I immediately fell in love with the size of the campus and how comforting everyone I met was. It was the perfect fit.

Who is one of your favorite professors and why?

Dr. Valentine, he makes coming to class enjoyable and truly cares about how a student is doing not only in the classroom, but also out of it.

What is one of your favorite Murray State traditions/experiences?

My favorite Murray State tradition is the Shoe Tree. It is just a very neat thing we do here that no one else can say they have.

What is something you’ve accomplished at Murray State that you’re most proud of and why are you proud of it?

Being a lead summer orientation counselor this past summer is one of my favorite accomplishments that I've achieved here at Murray State. I learned so much about myself through the experienced and truly felt like I made a difference in incoming students' lives.

What do you think sets Murray State apart from other universities?

The sense of community and friendliness sets Murray State apart from any other university. It's large enough so you don't feel like you're in high school, but small enough so you don't get lost in the crowd. The professors actually know who you are and are always there to help the student with anything they are struggling on.

For a prospective student considering which college to attend, why do you think they should consider attending Murray State?

Having professors who truly care about the students and are able to know you on a personal level due to our smaller class sizes, really open up so many opportunities to excel not only in the classroom, but in the real world as well.
