CRAZY FOR YOU, the “new Gershwin musical comedy”, with book by playwright Ken Ludwig. CRAZY FOR YOU tells the story of New York banker Bobby Child who spends his off hours practicing dance routines and sneaking in to audition for Zangler’s Follies. Regrettably, Bobby’s showbiz career is going nowhere, and his fiancé is insisting that the wedding date be set. So, when his mother Lottie demands that he investigate a customer in Nevada who has defaulted on a mortgage, Bobby takes the opportunity to get out of town. Arriving in hot, quiet Deadrock, Nevada, Bobby falls for Polly Baker, whose father happens to own the Gaiety Theater, which he has been sent to seize. Love-struck, Bobby comes up with a plan in hopes of saving the theatre: calling in his friends, the Zangler Follies Girls, and casting a bunch of rundown local cowboys with hidden musical talent. Polly falls in turn for the enthusiastic young man, but feels angry and betrayed when she discovers that he comes from the bank. Bobby disguises himself as Bela Zanglerso he can produce and direct, but while “Zangler” is talking up Bobby to the unsuspecting Polly, Polly begins falling for Zangler. When the real Zangler arrives in town, things really get “Crazy!”
CRAZY FOR YOU includes a collection of many beloved Broadway songs including “I Got Rhythm”, “They Can’t Take That Away From Me”, “Embraceable You”, “Nice Work If You Can Get It”, and “Someone To Watch Over Me”.
