Wyatt Daglã Severs grew up playing in the forests and creek beds of southern Illinois before moving to Murray, Kentucky, at the age of 8. He is a member of the Furniture Society, the American Association of Woodturners, the Kentucky Arts Council’s Teaching Artist Directory and "Showcasing the Arts," the arts council’s new program.
Severs has had his work published in "500 Cabinets" by Larks Books and "Woodworking" magazine. He was also the sole recipient of the Kentucky Arts Council Emerging Artist Award in 2016. Severs continues his woodworking at his studio in Murray, where he also teaches. This fall he will be assisting Dan Essig at Penland School of Crafts with the Fall Concentration wood workshop. He is also currently renovating an industrial building in western Kentucky to house an educational center focusing on the arts, history and science.
