The Murray State University Department of Art & Design and the University Galleries present “The Things I Tell Myself,” the BFA exhibit in metals and ceramics by Troian Cummings, on view in the Curris Center Gallery from Nov. 17 through Dec. 1, 2017.
Cummings, a senior from Mariposa, California, serves as the treasurer of the Organization of Murray Art Students and has been on the dean’s list for high scholarship every semester. She is the daughter of Irene Cummings and Bil Gleason.
The artwork in “The Things I Tell Myself” features porcelain, sterling silver, copper, gems and natural materials.
About her work, Cummings writes: “The Things I Tell Myself” includes body adornment and ceramic vessels. My artwork is about emotions and internal struggles in both figurative and abstract forms.
The opening reception for “The Things I Tell Myself” will be held Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Curris Center Gallery.
Admission is free and open to the public.
