Program proposal guidelines

Academic Council Program Proposal Form

CHANGE TO OR DELETION OF AN EXISTING PROGRAM

Changes/deletions to existing programs are submitted on the program proposal (on blue paper). Proposals are forwarded from the dean to Academic Council in Academic Affairs. The Recording Secretary then either forwards the proposal to an Academic Council sub-committee for consideration or places the proposal on an Academic Council agenda as an information item.

The pertinent information for proposed changes should be summarized on the proposal. If substantial changes are to be made, a side-by-side listing of the "current" and "new" program listing should be attached. Changes should be noted in red ink. Contact the Recording Secretary for an electronic file of the latest program version.

NEW PROGRAM
The intent to create a new program should be discussed with either Dr. Renae Duncan, Associate Provost for Undergraduate Programs or Dr. Robert Pervine, Associate Provost for Graduate Programs. Once the creation of a new program has been approved, the department should follow the Approval Process for New Degree Programs.

Submit new program curriculum to Academic Council with

  1. Academic Council Program Proposal (on blue paper)
  2. Academic Program Inventory Information form
  3. Course Alignment Matrix

NEW MINOR

A copy of the new minor's requirements should be attached.

All program proposals will be effective beginning the fall semester following approval.
