Calling all graduates of the Class of ’69! Do you ever think about your college roommate, or the person who sat by you in class? What about a sister you shared a bond with or a brother who guided you along the first year? Reunions are a special time for renewing friendships and making more memories. We have some special events planned for you on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 including a campus tour, anniversary dinner, reserved seating at the Homecoming parade and of course, the big game on Saturday afternoon! Save the date for the Golden Reunion and watch for details about registration coming soon! Please call 1-800-758-8510 for more information.
Started in the 1970s by Hall of Fame Head Coach Johnny Reagan, the Baseball Alumni gathering has been one of the most consistent groups to return to campus for Homecoming each year. The reunion combines players from all eras and includes a small gathering Friday night to watch the current team’s inter squad scrimmage, Batting Practice on Saturday at 10:00 am followed by an alumni luncheon. For more information, contact the Murray State athletics office at 270-809-6800.
Saturday morning, October 19 beginning at 9:30 a.m., handcrafted floats line up around the Murray square and student organizations parade along Main Street to Murray State’s campus, greeting and passing out candy and party favors to the other students and residents crowding the street. Special participants of interest include Racer One, marching bands (especially Racer Band) and political candidates. This year, we’re honored to welcome Murray State University graduates, Melvin and Vanna Ferguson, who will serve as parade grand marshals.
Download the Homecoming Parade packet for line up instructions, registration information, and more.
Every homecoming football game needs a good round of tailgating before kickoff, but Murray State has its own approach to meeting and greeting. Held annually since 1989, Tent City houses nearly many tents set up on the east side of the track at Roy Stewart Stadium. The tents represent a multitude of Murray State groups, from Greek organizations and student clubs to academic departments and residential colleges. The organizations use Tent City as a chance to mingle with alumni and raise funds for their semester activities, while also providing entertainment for homecoming spectators. Be sure to stop by the Murray State Alumni Association during Tent City for fun games, activities, special appearances by Murray State celebrities and more surprises!
One of the many highlights of Homecoming weekend is the announcement of the homecoming court. The coronation of Homecoming King and Queen will take place Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19 at Roy Stewart Stadium before kickoff at 2p.m. against Eastern Kentucky University.
Join Racer Nation on Saturday afternoon to cheer Murray State on to victory against Eastern Kentucky University! Kick-off at Roy Stewart Stadium is set for 2 p.m.
