Student Positive-Exposure Instructions

COVID-19 Positive @ Murray State? Follow the steps below:

Positive Test Result Received

You’ve tested positive, as verified by a healthcare provider. Ask for a written copy or photo of your notification from your medical provider to share with university officials. Follow the next steps.

Step 1

Notify University Officials

Email msu.studentcovidpositive@murraystate.edu with your name and M#.

If you live on campus, we will contact you with further instructions.

Step 2

Notify your instructors

Email EACH of your instructors, including Zoom, WEB, and face-to-face. Let them know the date of your possible exposure, and the date you should be able to return pending a COVID-19 test.

Step 3

Observe Isolation, and ask for help

Isolate until you are cleared. Anyone sick or infected should separate from others within the same residence when possible. Resources are available from the Racer Safe & Health Website.

Step 4

Murray State will check on you

We have employees designated to check in. Please call MSU Health Services/Primary Care/villageMD at 270.809.3809 or email them at msu.healthservices@murraystate.edu for questions during your isolation.

Exposed to COVID-19? Follow the steps below:

Suspected or Confirmed Exposure

Begin COVID-19 Quarantine, as per the CDC Guidelines.

Stay home except to get medical care. Avoid all contact with others, particularly if you haven’t been in contact with them since your exposure.

Step 1

Seek Advice about Testing

Contact MSU Health Services/Primary Care/villageMD, (phone: 270.809.3809 or msu.healthservices@murraystate.edu) or your own medical provider, to determine the level of exposure and possible testing.

Step 2

Notify University Officials

Email msu.studentcovidpositive@murraystate.edu with your name and M#.

Limit your exposure to others until you are cleared. If you become sick, consult Health Services or your healthcare provider. Resources are available from the Racer Safe & Healthy Website.
