The
Purchase Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is committed to building
a strong foundation to support the health care needs of the 12 counties
we serve in western Kentucky. The services provided through Purchase AHEC
includes:
Student Services & Professional Services :
Coordinating community-based learning experiences for health professions
students and health care providers, in addition to providing support
to rural hospital
Special Health Initiatives :
Promoting community initiatives to target specific health related
issues important to our region, including Dental
& Health care access.
Health Careers Exploration :
Encouraging careers in health
care through enrichment programs with emphasis on providing services
for middle & high school students and teachers.
Kentucky AHECs
are a collaborative effort between the University of Louisville Health
Sciences Center and the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Eight
regional centers serve as links between these academic health education
institutions and communities across the Commonwealth.
Located on the campus of Murray State University,
Purchase AHEC serves the counties of Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden,
Fulton, Graves, Hickman,Livingston, Lyon, McCracken, Marshall and Trigg.
