Many scholarship opportunities are available to occupational safety and health students and range from general scholarships for any student who meets basic eligibility requirements to those sponsored by companies and individuals specifically targeted toward occupational safety and health students.
The following is a list of scholarships awarded to students during the 2010-2011 academic year.
Scholarship information for the 2011-2012 academic year will be updated as it is received.

Murray State University ASSE Student Section Scholarship
Revised for Spring 2012 Semester
Sponsor: ASSE (MSU Chapter)
Award: One $500.00 scholarship for undergraduates students; One $500.00 scholarship for graduate students
Due Date: April 20, 2012
Eligibility Criteria:
-Minimum GPA of 2.5 for Undergraduate
-Minimum GPA of 3.2 for Graduate
-OSH Major/Area (must be officially declared)
-Officially classified as a sophomore or higher starting fall semester 2012
-Completion of degree work no earlier than December 2012
-20112012 academic year MSU ASSE Student Section Officers are NOT eligible
Application Requirements:
Submit a completed application to Dr. David Fender with the following attached. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
-Resume
-List of university, departmental, ASSE or other safety and health activities you have participated in and any honors, awards, scholarships, etc. received for academic excellence
-An original essay from 250-1000 words on the following questions: "Why are you seeking a degree in safety and how do you plan to give back to the safety profession in the future?”

Kentucky Safety and Health Network Foundation Scholarships

Award: Variety of awards are available
Due Date: Applications accepted January 20 - February 28 only
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program for occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
-Academic Qualifications - Undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time; have completed at least 60 semester hours; be carrying at least 12 semester hours; and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Graduate students must be enrolled full-time; be carrying at least 9 semester hours; have a minimum 3.5 GPA for graduate work; and have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA for undergraduate work.
-Residency Requirements - Students of traditional academic programs must be a Kentucky resident attending a Kentucky university; or be a Kentucky resident attending an out-of-state university, or be a non-Kentucky resident attending a Kentucky university. Students of online academic programs must be a Kentucky resident attending an online program administered by a Kentucky university.

Eligibility Criteria (General Requirements):
-Intend to pursue a career in construction and enrolled in a construction-related degree program in fall 2012.
-Undergraduate in at least the second year of a 2-year or a 4-year college of university in fall 2012.
-Minimum GPA of 2.5 (out of 4.0)

ASSE Audubon Chapter Scholarship

Award: $1,500.00 Award
Due Date: January 31, 2012
Eligibility Criteria:
-Undergraduate Student (GPA 2.80 or higher)
-Graduate Student (GPA 3.0 or higher)
-Must be scheduled to graduate after May 2012
-Accumulated a minimum of 60 credit hours toward Health and Safety degree of closely related field/Currently enrolled in 12 credit hours (undergraduate) or 9 credit hours (graduate)
-Live, work, or attend school in ASSE Audubon Chapter coverage area. The Audubon Chapter area includes the Kentucky counties of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Union, and Webster and the Indiana counties of Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Daviess, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick
-In lieu of the residency requirement above you may apply if you have an immediate family member who is a member of any chapter of ASSE
