Placement Testing

Students interested in testing out of developmental English, mathematics, and/or reading coursework, may want to explore taking additional placement testing.  Higher scores on the Compass or KYOTE exams can place you into degree coursework and move you ahead faster to your goal of graduating!

Placement Testing in Preparation for Fall Semester – Monday, August 18, 2014

The state of Kentucky requires each freshman to enroll in subject-specific developmental course if the student’s ACT score in English is below 18, Mathematics is below 19, or Reading is below 20. Entering freshman that need to take a placement test can do so on Monday, August 18 from 8:00-9:00 a.m. Testing will take place on the 1st floor in the Lowry Center.  Students who show up by 8:15 may take two tests if needed.  English and Reading placement tests may only be taken one time.  The Math KYOTE test can be taken more than once but must be at least a week apart.
