Open Enrollment 2014 for Plan Year 2015

Welcome to Online Open Enrollment 2015!  Open Enrollment is the annual opportunity for benefits eligible faculty and staff to review their current benefits and make changes for the next calendar year.  This year, Open Enrollment will be held from 8:00 a.m. October 16 – 4:30 p.m. October 31, 2014.

We are excited that the open enrollment process is now completely online through myGate.  This change will reduce the time spent selecting your 2015 benefits, and allows you to access and enroll at your convenience.  This will not only be a significant cost savings in time and effort, but will offer more efficiencies for faculty and staff, as well as for the University.  There will be computer labs available during the Open Enrollment process where Human Resources and Information Systems staff will be available for anyone needing assistance in the online enrollment process or password help.

What’s New for 2015:

  • There will be no plan design changes for deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, out of pocket limits, network access, etc.
  • Employee premium rates will change—The total projected increase in 2015 health care costs is approximately $900,000.  MSU is covering 80% of the cost, and the remaining 20% will be covered by the change in employee premiums.
  • When taking all plans and number of participants enrolled in each plan into consideration, the average increase is approximately $11.50/mo.
  • Compound drugs will be managed more carefully. This area has seen rapidly escalating costs as more companies are aggressively marketing these drugs directly to employees.
  • Employees will receive new Anthem insurance cards as of January 1, 2015, containing member ID and group number.
  • Human Resources and technology experts from Information Systems will be available to assist in the online enrollment process.
