Dr. Judy Brookhiser
Judy Brookhiser is an associate professor of Nonprofit Leadership Studies with emphasis
in outdoor recreation. She holds a doctorate in Outdoor Recreation from Indiana University.
Her master’s degree is from Penn State University in Recreation with Outdoor Education.
She holds an undergraduate teaching degree and has taught in public schools in Illinois,
Iowa, and The Gambia, Africa (while in the Peace Corps).
Brookhiser has taught at Murray State since 1990. She is active at the state and national levels in the American Camping Association, National Recreation and Park Association, Association for Experiential Education, Kentucky Association of Environmental Education, and the North American Association for Environmental Education. She has held state and national offices in several professional organizations.
