The Bachelor of Science degree is the pre-professional study for students who wish to pursue graduate school and the eventual career as a speech language pathologist, audiologist, or other allied health or educational professions. Additionally, the undergraduate degree prepares students for a variety of other careers options. In the State of Kentucky pre-professionals may be employed as certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistants with the bachelor’s degree.

The Master of Science program in Speech-Language Pathology is accredited by the Council of Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The program offers academic and clinical coursework leading to Kentucky licensure in speech-language pathology, certification by the Kentucky Department of Education, and the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology. Students in the program have clinical practice opportunities in the University’s Speech and Hearing Center, area schools, hospitals, and other rehabilitation settings.
