The goals and outcomes of the Dietetics Program at MSU are as follows:

1.     To prepare graduates with foundation knowledge and skills needed to enter a supervised practice component of entry-level dietitian education programs.

• At least 80% of graduates who take the RD exam will pass
• Dietetic internship directors will rate the graduates of MSU as satisfactory or above
• Graduates will rate their knowledge and skills level gained at MSU as satisfactory or above
• At least 80% of graduates who apply for dietetic internships will be accepted

 

2.     To prepare graduates to obtain employment in responsible positions in the areas of nutrition, dietetics, food service, food production, or to continue their education

• At least 60% of graduates will pass the RD exam and/or obtain employment related to dietetics.
• Employees will rate MSU graduates as satisfactory or above

 

3.     To contribute to the delivery of nutrition services in Kentucky as well as in other parts of the United States or the world by preparing nutrition professionals

• At least 60% of graduates will pass the RD exam and/or obtain employment related to dietetics.

• Employees will rate MSU graduates as satisfactory or above

 

4.     To provide leadership in dietetics through active participation by graduates and faculty in local, state, and national professional associations.

• Students will attend at least one meeting of a professional organization
• At least 50% of graduates will be involved in a dietetics professional organization within 3 years of graduation.
