Admissions

Unconditional graduate admission requirements consist of an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in recreation, leisure services, exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, or similar field of study.  In addition, the prospective student must have achieved at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for their overall undergraduate work.

Conditional graduate admission is based on the following concerns:  the student now achieving a 3.0 undergraduate GPA, an undergraduate field of study not listed in the unconditional requirements, or a combination of both.  If the student does not have the aforementioned GPA, they are required to maintain a 3.0 on the first 12 hours of graduate work.  If the prospective student does not have an undergraduate degree in one of the required fields of study, the student will be expected to take 6 to 12 hours of undergraduate preparatory classes in either recreation or exercise science, depending on the program emphasis choice.
