Admission Information For Transfer Students

Admission Procedures

  • Complete the Murray State application.

  • Mail application and $30 non-refundable fee.

  • Request that official transcripts be mailed directly to Admissions Services by the Registrar of each college at which you have registered--even if you withdrew.

For further information, contact
Admissions Services at 270-809-3035.

Admission Requirements for Transfer Students

Admission will be based on academic performance. A minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA (4.0 scale) is required. Transfer credit only will be awarded if the student attended a regionally accredited (as recognized by Murray State) institution of higher education. Students who have earned fewer than 30 semester hours of degree credit must also meet freshman admission requirements.

Please refer to the Undergraduate Bulletin for more detailed information.

Additional Materials Needed

Official transcripts must be mailed to us directly from all institutions at which the student has registered.  Transfer students who have earned fewer than 30 semester hours of degree credit, also must have an official copy of their high school transcript mailed directly from that school, and must request an official ACT score report.
Faxes and documents received from the student are not official.

Applicants from KY, IL, IN, MO, and TN may be required to submit additional documents to verify residency for tuition purposes.

For further information, contact Barbara Rose, Transfer Admissions Clerk.
