Barron's Profiles of American Colleges describes itself as the "Students' #1 Choice" in college guidebooks.
It is with particular pride that Murray State University reports that the new Barron's guide lists Muray State as a very competitive university. The guidebook describes 1,650 institutions. The "very competitive" university status is based on data compiled and edited by the College Division of Barron's Educational Series, Inc., Hauppauge, N.Y.
Murray State Is Kentucky's only state university to be rated "very competitive."
Murray State's quality has also been noted by other educational rating services. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Murray State as a best value among regional universities in the South. MSU rated second to The Citadel in South Carolina, and ahead of such schools as James Madison University in Virginia, the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, Appalachian State University in North Carolina, and Mary Washington College in Virginia.
U.S. News has consistently rated MSU high in America's Best Colleges.
