  • Psychotherapy Services

  • The Psychological Center offers individual psychotherapy for both adults and children, as well as couples and family therapy.

  • Evaluation Services
  • Intellectual and personality assessments for both adults and children may be obtained at the Center. Assessments of learning disabilities and attention deficit/hyperactivity are available.

     
    Therapists
     
     

    Therapists are advanced master's level students in clinical psychology at Murray State University. All therapists are closely supervised by licensed Ph.D. clinical psychologists in the Psychology Department at Murray State University.

     
    Appointments
     
     

    Initial paperwork and a questionnaire must be completed before the first appointment is scheduled. Paperwork can be done Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. These forms take one to two hours to complete. A clinician will be assigned to your case and will call you to schedule your first session. A clinician is available for crisis situations during clinic hours.

     
    Confidentiality
     
     

    Client records and other information are managed at the Center with strictest confidentiality. No information will be transmitted to any other individual or agency without the express permission of the client, except as required by law.

     
    Fees
     
     

    Fees for services at the Psychological Center are charged on a sliding scale based on your income and the number of people in your family. Fees vary depending on the service provided. Please contact the Center for details about specific fees. Acceptance for treatment is not based on ability to pay for services. Students enrolled at Murray State University receive free services at the Psychological Center.
