Calculate your body mass index
Are you at a healthy body weight?
Ideal weight is based upon a person's body mass index (BMI) - the relationship between a person's body weight and their height. According to U.S. government's guidelines, more then half of all American adults are overweight.
To determine your BMI, use our BMI calculator below. Just enter your height in inches and your weight in pounds and then click the 'calculate' button. If you would rather calculate your BMI yourself, divide your body weight in kilograms by your height in meters squared. A kilogram equals 2.2 pounds. A meter is 3.28 feet.
If your BMI is between 18 and 24.9, you are in the "ideal" weight range. If your BMI is between 25 to 29.9, you are overweight. If your BMI is over 30, you are severely overweight or obese.
