The Center for Gifted Studies serves as a resource to support
excellence in Gifted Education in Western Kentucky and the Murray State University Service Region. The Center, located at 3205 Alexander
Hall, collaborates with pre-service and graduate education students, the School Psychology and other College of Education programs,
and educators to provide services to parents and gifted children in the region, special professional development programs for teachers,
and regional and international enrichment opportunities for gifted students during the academic year and summers.
The Center prepares teachers to promote excellence in gifted
education through its Graduate Endorsement Program (both online and cohort models), through its facilitation of Region 1 Gifted and
Talented Coordinators and Teachers meetings, with the Gifted and Talented Academy Series for Regular Classroom Teachers, and with the
William O. Price Gifted Resource Collection, and through other special programs and events.
