A Bachelor of Science degree with an Area in Exercise Science or Athletic Training are programs designed for students with an interest in health promotion, athletic training, wellness, and those interested in pursuing graduate programs in physical therapy, exercise science, occupational therapy, physicians assistant, or sports medicine. Students declaring an Area of Exercise Science choose an emphasis of study in Wellness, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Occupational Therapy, or Pre-Physician Assistant while students interested in becoming certified in athletic training choose the area of Athletic Training. Persons interested in the program must possess good academic skills, be interested in science and disease prevention, and enjoy working with people. The Athletic Training Program leads to state and national certification.
