Programs

Welcome! If your goal is an excellent education preparing you for a life-long career, the College of Health Sciences and Human Services might provide just what you need. The college consists of three departments offering an array of professional and pre-professional programs designed to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s world.

The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is one of the only OSH programs in the country to offer nationally accredited programs at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels. A degree in Occupational Safety and Health can lead to careers in safety management; occupational health; industrial hygiene; loss/risk control management; ergonomics; emergency planning and response; or environmental safety and health.

The Department of Community Leadership and Human Services prepares students for careers in a wide variety of fields. The Criminal Justice program prepares graduates for careers in law enforcement, the legal system, correctional administration, as well as adult/ juvenile corrections. The nationally accredited Social Work program prepares professional social workers for both private and public human service agencies. The Recreation and Leisure Services program trains students to work in youth programming, the national park systems or other areas related to tourism. A degree in Youth and Nonprofit Leadership equips graduates with the skills required to serve as professionals in the nonprofit sector.

The Department of Applied Health Sciences offers programs leading to credentials in Communication Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology); Community Health; Exercise Science (Wellness, Pre-Health Professional); Athletic Training; Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Management. All programs in the department are nationally accredited with the exception of the new program in Community Health.

Each of the programs in the college provides a variety of clinical and community-based internship experiences to ensure that students are prepared both academically as well as experientially. We invite you to explore these programs further on this website, to visit our campus, and meet with our dedicated faculty for additional information regarding the program that most interests you.
