Programs Welcome! If your goal is an excellent education preparing you for a life-long career, the College of Health Sciences and Human Services may provide just what you need. The college consists of three departments offering an array of professional and pre-professional programs designed to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s world.
The Department of Occupational Safety and Health is one of the only OSH programs in the nation to offer nationally accredited programs at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels. A degree in Occupational Safety and Health can lead to careers in safety management, occupational health, industrial hygiene, loss/risk control management, ergonomics, emergency planning and response, and environmental safety and health.
The Department of Community Leadership and Human Services prepares Criminal Justice professionals for careers in law enforcement, the court system, correctional administration, as well as adult and juvenile corrections. In its nationally accredited Social Work division, the department prepares professional social workers for both private and public human service agencies. Recreation and Leisure Services and Youth and Non-Profit Leadership are great ways to turn your passions into careers!
The Department of Applied Health Sciences offers programs leading to credentials in Communication Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology), Exercise Science, Wellness, Pre-Occupational Therapy, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Physician's Assistant Programs, Athletic Training, Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Management. All programs in the department are nationally accredited or are seeking it currently.
Each of the programs in the college provides a variety of clinical, practicum and internship experiences to insure that students are prepared both academically, as well as experientially, for their chosen professions.
