Watson to appear in Alan Jackson’s

“Good Time” Video

When Alan Jackson’s new music video “Good Time” debuted on CMT (Country Music Television) in May, Murray ’s own Amy Watson was on the scene. Reporter/anchor for News Channel 5 in Nashville, Tenn., Watson portrays a news reporter in the upcoming video.

“Good Time” is the title track of Jackson ’s new album. “Alan’s producers told him the song was so country it would bring back line dancing,” said Watson. “So that’s exactly what they did.”

In the video storyline, Watson’s character reports onsite at the world’s longest line dance, spanning from Nashville to parts of Kentucky. “It was the chance of a lifetime,” said Watson. “The video director wanted an authentic reporter.” Jackson later told Watson he and his wife Denise watch her every morning on News Channel 5 This Morning.

Shot near Dixon, Tenn., the outdoor stage was set at the end of Highway 840, the same location for Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” video. Extras came as far as Oklahoma to dance in the video.

A 1989 Murray State University alumna, Watson joined the News Channel 5 team in October of 2006. She continues to host Western Baptist Hospital ’s Health Break, airing locally on WPSD News Channel 6.
