Murray
State University alumnus Dick Anderson, executive director
of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, has been
nominated by President George W. Bush to be a member of
the Internal Revenue Service Oversight Board for a five-year
term expiring Sept. 14, 2013.
Anderson
previously served as group president of Global Business
Services at AT&T. Earlier in his career he served as
vice chairman and president of Business Markets at BellSouth
Corporation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business
administration and marketing from MSU in 1980 and MBA in
1981.
A
generous supporter and friend of Murray State , Anderson
has served on the MSU Telecommunications Systems Management
(TSM) National Advisory Board for several years, giving
input into the growth of the program. He also provided funds
for the Dick Anderson TSM Learning Center . TSM is an academic
program in the College of Science , Engineering & Technology.
As
a student at MSU, Anderson was a member of the Lambda Chi
Alpha fraternity and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is the
1994 recipient of the MSU Alumni Association Distinguished
Alumnus Award.
