Biography
Dr. Danny Claiborne received his B.S. degree from Murray State University in 1978 and his M.S. degree from Murray State in 1980. He taught secondary education in for five years before moving to higher education. In 1985 he became an assistant professor at Murray State University. Dr. Claiborne completed his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in 1992.
Dr. Claiborne is currently the Department Chair for Industrial and Engineering Technology. He served as a faculty member for 13 years before becoming department chair, where he has served as chair for 8 years. Dr. Claiborne works with 22 faculty and over 600 students in the Department of IET. He works closely with business and industry to develop strong relationships for internships, cooperative education, and full time employment for the students.
Dr. Claiborne’s research and grant funding activities has developed strong relationships with regional companies, state and national institutions, and federal organizations to provide over one million dollars of support to Murray State University.
