1. ARCHIVES & SPECIAL COLLECTIONS LIBRARIAN/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, University Libraries. Full-time, tenure track position to begin January 2010. Qualifications: ALA-accredited master's degree required by start date. Knowledge of and curatorial experience with rare books, historical printed materials, and manuscripts required. Must have experience providing research services in an academic setting. Demonstrated supervisory and/or project management experience required. Familiarity with new and emerging standards and technologies relevant to bibliographic control, preservation and digitization required. Experience providing research services in genealogy, and/or special collections, Voyager Integrated Library System, and digitization of special collections materials preferred. Experience cataloging rare books and/or other special collections materials preferred. Responsibilities: Provide public assistance and instruction sessions to library users; participation in donor outreach efforts; identification and application for external funding opportunities; application of cataloging and metadata standards to special collections; development of finding aids to improve accessibility of archives and special collections resources; supervision of library staff and student workers; other duties as assigned by the Dean of University Libraries.
