1. TES ADMISSION/ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST (G10), Teacher Quality Institute. Regular, full-time grant position for one year. Salary $10.20 per hour. Education and/or experience: Must possess two years of college plus four years of upper-level office experience, preferably in an academic setting with an understanding of undergraduate and graduate programs. Additional college and related experience may be exchanged year-for-year to meet qualifications. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as an eye for detail, are required. Experience working with MS Office, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing is necessary; Crystal Reports is a plus. Applicant should be able to present to large and small groups, work with minimal supervision, multi-task, and understand the importance of working as a team. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to sensitively handle confidential information are required. Responsibilities include review of admission to teacher education and student teaching; assisting applicants with record preparation for admission to teacher education and student teaching records; analyzing data and preparing reports as requested; maintaining detailed records and managing data through a database system; and communication with faculty, staff, and students. 2. TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST (G9), Information Systems - Telecommunications. Regular, full-time position. Salary $9.47 per hour. Education and/or experience: Two years of college with four years of general office experience in any business office where public contact is necessary. Additional college education may be exchanged year-for-year for experience requirement. Experience using telephone switchboard desirable. Must possess excellent public relations skills and ability to deal pleasantly with campus personnel, co-workers, students, parents, vendors, and the general public. Must possess microcomputer skills, memory for oral and written directions, attention to details, excellent typing and office procedure/organizational skills essential. Knowledge of HTML programming software, Web Page management and Microsoft Office Suite highly desirable. Knowledge of university forms and procedures preferred. Ability to deal with confidential matters and challenging people/situations necessary. Responsibilities include operation of the University telephone switchboard and terminal emulator; training of university employees on new VoIP system; programming basic administrative changes to Call Manager and Unity voice mail; assisting in all aspects of the telephone directory; issuing, retrieving and maintaining database of long distance calling cards; maintenance of telecommunications web site; bookkeeping/budget monitoring; payment and tracking of monthly telephone statements and resolution of disputed charges; receiving and logging of all telephone trouble tickets and service requests; and supervision of student employees. 3. TRANSFER ADMISSIONS CLERK (G9), Transfer Center. Regular, full-time. Salary $9.47 per hour. Education and/or experience: Two years of college education with four years of work experience in an office; experience in a university setting and working with college students preferred. Additional college education and office experience may be exchanged year-for-year to meet qualifications. Must have excellent data entry skills. Previous computer experience required with Microsoft Office and Banner skills desired. Must be very detail oriented and accurate with data and detailed audit trails. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required. Must be well organized, analytical, and possess a memory for complex policies and procedures. Must be able to work well with others. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining undergraduate admission files; admitting transfer students, BIS, Project Graduate students, and others as necessary; processing transfer and readmission applications; making admission decisions based on MSU policies and procedures; answering phone calls and emails from prospective students; working on special projects; and other duties as assigned by supervisors. 4. ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY I (G7), University Communications. Regular, full-time position. Salary $8.23 per hour. Education and/or experience: High school graduate or equivalent with at least two years of secretarial experience required. Knowledge of email, internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and web applications preferred. Position includes maintenance of computer-based files, general secretarial duties, and basic bookkeeping skills. Must be able to supervise student employees and organize the flow of work through the department. Good interpersonal skills to interact with students, faculty, and staff are necessary. Must be able to function in a busy environment. Experience with budget and/or accounting procedures desirable. Job duties include organizing workflow in the department, organizing and maintaining budget information, providing secretarial support to faculty, scheduling and supervision of student workers, and interaction with students and visitors in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural environment.
