TV 11 assists local school media

TV 11, under the supervision of instructor and electronic media head Jeremy McKeel, had another full fall semester.

In addition to the twice a week "News Center 11" and the weekly "MSU Tonight," TV 11 personnel helped local high school students produce programs.

McKeel worked with students at Calloway County High School to produce the nightly coach's show while graduate student Chris Haynes worked with Murray High School students to produce a monthly news magazine show, "The Tiger Stripes." The 30-minute show depicts events at the high school during that month.

McKeel and Haynes also worked with the students from all three programs to produce the annual Rotary telethon in November.

The "MSU Tonight Show," aired live each Thursday, featured entertainment, information on a number of campus events and special guests from the Murray community.

TV-11 is a cable television service operated by the JMC Department and provides electronic media and broadcast journalism students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all facets of television production.

An affiliate of Kentucky Educational Television's KET2 service, TV 11 reaches 43,800 households in western Kentucky and northwest Tennessee.
