WKPA holds fall meeting
Representatives of six weekly newspapers, Murray State's Department of Journalism and the Kentucky Press Association participated in the fall meeting of the West Kentucky Press Association Nov. 8 at Eddyville.
The participants discussed, in a round-table format, how to handle obits, how to better work with postmasters and developing legal and non-profit advertising.
Newspapers attending were the Eddyville Herald-Ledger, the Dawson Springs Progress, the Cadiz Record, the McLean County News, the Calvert City Lake News and the Princeton Times-Leader.
Rae Wagoner of the Herald-Ledger is the WKPA president. Jared Nelson of the Princeton Times-Leader is the vice president. Dr. Bob McGaughey of Murray State serves as executive director.
Special guest was David Thompson, executive director of the Kentucky Press Association in Frankfort.
The spring meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 16 at the Oasis Restaurant in Eddyville.
