WELCOME Teachers in Kentucky are proactively developing new learning environments that integrate the multiple ways students use their intelligence in the process of acquiring an education. Technology integration into the curriculum and teacher computer competence must be partners in achieving the practice of excellence in student education. Using technology as one of several teaching tools, the classroom becomes a place where knowledge is something that is co-constructed between teacher and student rather than something that is transferred via Socratic methodologies. Teachers can tangibly see learning as an active, creative, and socially interactive process. Utilizing technology students can see learning as a proactive creative process where their input into the process holds value. Thus, the classroom becomes a win-win environment for students and teachers. Computers can be fun. So, let us begin with some of the basics. |
NOTEBOOK TIPS When learning how to use a computer it might be a good idea to create a notebook where hints, tips and how to dos are placed. Print them out and place them into this notebook. Be as creative as you like!!!! Indexed tabs make referring back to something easy. A notebook kept beside your computer with information relevant to its maintenance and operation will save time and frustration in the long run. Some useful tips are provided below. Many schools and individuals have not yet upgraded to the Windows 98 or 2000 platforms; so the tip instructions below were written for the Windows 95 operating system. However, Windows 98 is very similar and the tips will be usable and understandable to those operating on the 98 or 2000 platforms. |
