MSU Awarded NKBA Endorsed Program Top Honors

Each year, the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) awards the Most Outstanding Annual Requirements Award to student work samples submitted from NKBA Endorsed College Programs.  This year, the NKBA recognized Murray State University as one of five winners of the Most Outstanding Annual Requirements for bath projects award.

The NKBA Endorsed College Program was created in 1987 to serve the professional needs of the kitchen and bath industry and to ensure consistent quality education for students who desire to become kitchen and bath professionals.

A college applying for NKBA endorsement must demonstrate that it meets NKBA's rigorous educational requirements.  The curriculum is based on NKBA kitchen and bath training manuals, the industry's most comprehensive series of educational books, and the NKBA Kitchen and Bath Planning guidelines.  NKBA Endorsed College students must complete classroom work and supervised internships, which will enhance and extend classroom experiences and ensure that they have fulfilled the minimum student competencies.
At Murray State the NKBA reference materials and resources are incorporated into the curriculum in the Interior Design Program taught by Cynthia Tubbs.
More than 48 colleges and universities across North America teach NKBA standards and are endorsed by the association.
