Dr.
Terry Derting Elected President of ACUBE |
The association also encourages active participation in biological research
by educators and students as a means of enhancing effective teaching. The
executive officers work to bring the collective views of college and university
faculty of the biological sciences to the attention of college and civil
government adminstrations. Prior to her election as President, Dr. Derting
has served as a member of the Steering Committee, the Editorial Review Committee,
and Program Chair for ACUBE. The theme of the 2004 annual meeting, which will be held at Wabash College, is Technology in Biology Education. Presentations and workshops will focus on scientific technology, including use of databases, bioinformatics, and modern innovations in equipment, as well as instructional technology. Faculty and graduate students interested in effective approaches to teaching and a friendly forum for discussing education issues are invited to attend. |
