Dr. Ed Thome
Receives Board of Regents
Teaching Award

Dr. Ed Thome was selected as the 2001-2002 recipient of the Board of Regents' Teaching Award from the College of Science, Engineering and Technology. The award is based on classroom performance, concern for students, and academic advising.

Dr. Thome, a Kansas native, joined the faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in 1991 after receiving a Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Kansas State University. Dr. Thome is known as a dedicated and effective teacher. He shows a genuine concern for student learning by being available to students and for his careful preparation and presentation of the course material. He demands a lot from his students and, because he is such a good teacher, they strive to achieve the high standards he sets for them.
