Students in the Department of Engineering & Physics are encouraged to complete co-ops or internships as they provide valuable learning experiences that greatly benefit students upon graduation. Students have interned with a wide array of companies in various industries and many have gone to work for that employer after graduation. Below is a testimonial from one of our recent graduates and her co-op experience with Briggs & Stratton.

"Majoring in Engineering Physics at Murray State University opened many doors for me.  Throughout my time at Murray I was given the opportunity to examine various aspects of engineering and physics, study abroad and participate in a co-op with a local industry, Briggs and Stratton. Through my co-op, I learned many hands-on engineering practices and was exposed to the environment of an actual engineering company. My co-op also allowed me to gain international business and engineering experience. I worked with many people from Europe and also traveled there to meet with other engineers and customers.  My studies at Murray State along with my co-op experience have prepared me for my career as well as for life."
