Academic Second Chance
A student who wishes to petition for academic forgiveness must meet the following criteria:
1. The student must have been separated from all institutions of higher learning for a period of two (2) calendar years.
2. The student must have re-entered Murray State University and earned at least 12 credit hours at MSU with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on those hours. He/she must be currently enrolled at MSU.
ASC terms will remain a part of the student’s record although the forgiven semesters in their entirety will be excluded when calculating the GPA. The refigured GPA will be the official GPA of the University. A statement to that effect will be placed on the student’s record.
Academic Second Chance may be granted only once and applies only to Murray State credit. It is important to note that ASC may not be recognized by other institutions.
- Students may apply for academic forgiveness by printing and completing the Request for Academic Second Chance form. The form should be mailed to:
