The University Calendar is subject to change as deemed necessary in the judgment of the university's administration.

 

July 17 Thursday Billing statement mailings for Fall 2008 begin. Students have three weeks to make payment arrangements to prevent their schedules from being deleted.  Payment of Fall 2008 charges begins July 17.
August 6 Wednesday

All payment arrangements due for those who scheduled April 4-July 16.  After 4:30 p.m., schedules will be deleted for nonpayment.

August 11 Monday Late Registration fee of $25 begins.
     Deadline for students enrolled Fall 2008 to qualify for 2008-2009 Incentive Grant.
August 12 Tuesday

Last day to file with the Academic Appeals Committee for admission or readmission to Fall 2008 term.

August 13 Wednesday Last day to schedule and be mailed a billing statement.  Payment is due Wednesday, August 20.
August 14 Thursday Billing statements are NO longer mailed.  Payment is due immediately.  Check page 4 for billing information.
     Faculty/Professional Staff brunch/meeting - 11:00a.m., Curris Center Ballroom.
August 16 Saturday Residential colleges open, 10 a.m. FOR NEW FRESHMEN and NEW TRANSFERS ONLY.
   GREAT BEGINNINGS
August 17 Sunday Residential colleges open at Noon for returning students.
August 20 Wednesday Classes begin on campus and off campus, including evening classes. Absences recorded.
      RACER-TOUCH scheduling, drop/add, and credit card fee payment, 5:00 a.m. - 4:50 p.m.
     In-person fee payment, Sparks Hall, Cashier's Office, 2nd floor,
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
August 22 Friday Last day to enroll in any first half-semester course. Class participation required on or before this date if class has begun.
     Last day to drop any first half-semester course with no grade.
     Last day to change any first half-semester course from AUDIT to CREDIT.
August 26 Tuesday Last day to enroll in any regular full-semester course.
Class participation required  on or before this date if class has begun.
    Last day for students with cumulative GPA below 2.00 to submit an ARP or acknowledgement form to Registration Office.
     Last day to drop any full-semester course with no grade.
     Last day to change any full-semester course from AUDIT to CREDIT.
     Any class that begins after August 26, 2008 must be added at the Registration Office, Sparks Hall, with a signed letter from the course instructor.
     PAYMENT DUE TODAY.  PAYMENT REQUIRED FOR BLACKBOARD ACCESS.
September 1 Monday Classes dismissed for Labor Day.  All offices are closed.
September 2 Tuesday Classes resume, 7:30 a.m.
September 12 Friday Master's degree applications for December 2008 graduation due in Graduate Admissions, Sparks Hall.
    Last day to drop any first half-semester course. Student will receive a grade of "W" (no penalty). RACER-TOUCH drop, 5:00 a.m. - 4:50 p.m.
      Last day to change any first half-semester course from CREDIT to AUDIT. Permission form must have full signatures of student's advisor and course instructor and be submitted to the Registration Office by 4:30 p.m. for processing.  Attendance is required for passing grade.

September 17

Wednesday Last day to remove grade of "X" received during last term enrolled. (See Undergraduate Bulletin.)
 September 19 Friday Last day to apply for review of residency classification for Fall 2008.
October 3 Friday Classes dismissed at 7:30 a.m. for Fall Break.  Offices Open.
October 6 Monday Classes resume at 7:30 a.m.
October 8 Wednesday Midterm grades due in Sparks Hall, Registration Office, 10:00 a.m.
October 10 Friday First half-semester courses end.
October 13 Monday Second half-semester courses begin.
October 15 Wednesday Last day to enroll in any second half-semester course. Class participation is required on or before this date if class has begun. Sparks Hall, 1st floor, Registration Office, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
     Last day to drop any second half-semester course with no grade. RACER-TOUCH drop continues, 5:00 a.m. - 4:50 p.m. 
    Last day to change any second half-semester course from AUDIT to CREDIT.
October 17 Friday Priority deadline to submit application for admission in order to pre-schedule for Spring 2009.
October 31 Friday Last day to drop any full-semester course. Student will receive a grade of "W" (no penalty).
    RACER-TOUCH drop, 5:00 a.m. - 4:50 p.m.
  Last day to change any full-semester course from CREDIT to AUDIT. Permission form must have full signatures of student's advisor and course instructor. Bring form to Sparks Hall, Registration Office, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
 November 1 Saturday The drop process is no longer available for any full-semester course, only complete withdrawal from the semester  Students who officially withdraw from ALL classes November 1-25 will receive grades of "WP" or "WE" as assigned by instructors.
November 3 Monday Associate and baccalaureate degree applications for May 2008 graduation are due in the Registrar's Office.
November 4 Tuesday Presidential Election. Classes dismissed and offices closed.
 November 7 Friday Advance scheduling for Spring 2009 begins. RACER-TOUCH scheduling information will be listed in the Spring 2009 Schedule of Classes.
    Last day to drop any course taught only in second half-semester. Sparks Hall, 1st. floor, Registration Office, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Student will receive grade of "W" (no penalty). RACER-TOUCH not available for dropping courses.
    Last day to change any course taught only in second half of semester from CREDIT to AUDIT. Permission form must have full signatures of student's advisor and course instructor, and must be submitted to the Registration Office by 4:30 p.m. for processing.  Attendance is required for passing grade.
November 25 Tuesday Last day to withdraw from all classes. If official withdrawal is completed November 1 - November 25, "WP" and "WE" grades are assigned by instructors.
November 26 Wednesday Classes dismissed for Thanksgiving holiday, 7:30 a.m.
December 1 Monday Classes resume, 7:30 a.m.
December 4 Thursday Senior Breakfast for all seniors and graduate students graduating in December, 2008.
December 5 Friday Last day of classes.
    Last day to remove grade of "I" received during last term enrolled.

December 6 Saturday Final examinations begin. Grades due in Registration Office 48 hours after each examination with 10:00 a.m.,  December 15, the absolute deadline.
December 12 Friday Final examinations end.
December 13 Saturday Commencement ceremonies at Regional Special Events Center, 10:00 a.m.
    Residence Halls close at Noon.
December 15 Monday Final Grade Sheets MUST be in the Registration Office by 10:00 a.m.
December 16 Tuesday Final Grades are available on the student PIN.
