MSU ROTC Scholarships

(ROTCT) ROTC Tuition Scholarship-

This scholarship will pay the amount for one year of in-state tuition.The following guidelines must be met and maintained in order for the scholarship to be valid. If at anytime the guidelines are not met the scholarship may be removed.

United States Army Cadet Command ROTC Scholarships
  • Must be a full-time student
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA that must be maintained every semester
  • Must be an incoming freshman
  • Must be enrolled in MIL 100, MIL 101, and MIL 102 (in the spring)
  • Must attend all ROTC Labs and required training exercises

(ROTCH) Leadership Housing Scholarship-

This scholarship is a one-year scholarship that pays for the room portion of living in campus housing. It will not pay for meal plans. The scholarship can be granted up to a maximum of 8 semesters. By February 1 of each school year, the applicant must re-apply for the following school year. A ROTC board is held to determine eligibility and scholarship allocations. The following guidelines must be met to be eligible:

 

 
  • Must be a full-time student
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA that must be maintained every semester
  • Must be enrolled in Military Science courses

NOTE: You must apply for these scholarships online and before February 1 to be eligible for the following school year.

 

Army ROTC Scholarships:

Army ROTC scholarships pay up to $20,000 per year for tuition. You will also receive $450/semester and the ROTC stipend. The stipend is dependent on what education level you enter ROTC.

These scholarships are very competitive and minimum requirements are as follows:

  • 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher
  • 19 ACT score or higher
  • Complete and pass a medical screening
  • Pass and Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) and meet Army height/weight requirements

Army APFT Standards

The Army ROTC Scholarships are for Active Duty service only upon graduating from Murray State University. There are two types of Army ROTC Scholarships:

  1. Incoming Freshman: These individuals who have not attended college before may apply for an Army scholarship online. These scholarships may be for 3 years or 4 years depending on what is available. The following link provides more information, including the application:

    Note: Be sure to contact the ROTC department upon completion of application.
  2. On-Campus Scholarships: This scholarship is for those that are already attending Murray State University or transferring from another college. To apply for these scholarships, you must contact the Enrollment and Scholarship Officer at (270) 809-5061. These scholarships can be 2-year, 3-year, and even 4-year scholarships.
