Roger de Albryghton  abt. 1355 - 1409

Roger de Albryghton was Treasurer of St. Paul's Cathedral in London and also Controller of the Port of London in 1407. He was also a priest. His personal seals are preserved in the British Library. The seals are described as "per pale, two lions rampant, queue fourchee, in fess, in chief three scallops". There was also a similar description of a church window in the Albrighton Parish Church in Staffordshire. These two descriptions constitute the armorial bearings of Roger de Albryghton and most likely his family. They also constitute a description of the Coat of Arms for the family. May have been close to Richard II.

The listed descendants of Richard de Albryghton up to Joseph Albrighton who was in York County, Virginia in 1650 is based on circumstantial evidence collected by the Reverend Duane H. Arnold and Mrs. Eleanor Davis McSwain. There has been no firm or absolute evidence found to connect those listed from Richard de Albryghton to Joseph or Francis Albrighton in Virginia. Those researchers who do not agree with the alignment of the descendant tree from Richard de Albryghton to Joseph and Francis Albrighton of York County, Virginia have the option of discarding or changing it. Someone someday, may discover proof that the present alignment is correct or incorrect and then they can make the proper corrections.  Source, Bobbie Allbritten
