Welcome from Dr. Robertson
Greetings from Murray State University and the Office of Student Affairs. Welcome to the Parentís Link on the Murray State University web page. The following links are provided to give parents a better understanding about the campus and community. By using this link, you will be able to view upcoming events on the campus of Murray State.
In addition, there is a list of important people you may want to contact on campus. Both direct phone numbers and toll ‚free numbers are provided. I would especially call to your attention three links you may want to view. These are the critical dates for the semester, the retention timeline, and the parentís newsletter. Each of these links has very important information that can help you as you work with your son or daughter.
For parents of new freshmen we have provided a guide to some of the differences your student can anticipate between the experience in high school and the university experience. Along with this, there is a student stress calendar that identifies common stressful events and the time of year when they typically occur (this link requires Adobe Acrobat reader).
Should you be planning to visit our area, there are local hotel phone numbers and a list of restaurants provided. Parents also are encouraged to e-mail with any questions, which you may have.
The intent of the Parentís Link is to provide you with needed information and resources that will help your son or daughter have a successful career at Murray State University.
Wishing you and your family the best,
Don Robertson
Vice-President for Student Affairs
