Dr. McCoy received his B.A. in Economics in 1978 from Xavier University and his Ph.D. in International Economics and Economic Development in 1986 from the University of North Carolina. He has presented and published numerous papers involving economic impact statements, international firm location decisions, and economic education issues, in both national and international journals. Dr. McCoy has also directed and worked on several state, federal, and private foundation grants. He has been both a Murray State Presidential Research Fellow and recipient of the Murray State Board of Regents Award for Teaching Excellence.
Dr. McCoy is currently Associate Provost and Distinguished Professor. In addition, he has served in several other administrative roles at Murray State University. He has served as the Coordinator for Maintenance of AACSB Accreditation, Academic Director of the Telecommunications Systems Management Program in the College of Business and Public Affairs, the Director of the Center for International Business Education, the Executive Director of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research, the Executive Director of the On-line Business and Telecommunications Systems Management Programs, Assistant Dean of the College of Business and Public Affairs, and Chair of the Department of Economics and Finance.
Dr. McCoy’s international experience includes teaching International Trade and Finance, International Business, Economic Development, and International Economic Relations on the undergraduate as well as graduate level in a variety of countries including Belize, Finland, Jamaica (as a Fulbright Scholar), Austria, Hong Kong, Australia, Poland and Cyprus. |
