Signs/Symptoms
Refusal to maintain body weight over a minimal normal weight for age and height (Specifically, remaining at least 15 percent below expected weight or losing 15 percent of expected weight. Intense fear of weight gain. Feeling fat or seeing areas of the body as huge, even when emaciated. Absence of at least three or more monthly menstrual periods. Preoccupation with food, calories, nutrition, and/or cooking.
