The Department of Wellness and Therapeutic Sciences is dedicated
to preparing professionals in such areas as: Communication Disorders;
Exercise Science (Wellness, Pre-PT, Pre-OT, Pre-PA); Athletic Training, Nutrition, Dietetics
and Food Management; Recreation and Leisure Services (Outdoor
Recreation); and Youth & Nonprofit Leadership. Now that we are in
the 21st Century, students will need to have a great understanding of
the critical issues and needs for all health related professions
identified in this department. The faculty in the department strives
to be sensitive to social and ethical issues and are committed to the
lives of those they serve. The task of educating students pursing a
degree in the area of health sciences and human services is a major
challenge for faculty. The range of service required is broad, and the
knowledge and range of skills necessary are complex. Faculty in the
department are highly educated in their respective fields and devoted
to teaching aspiring professionals.
