The ADVANCE Grant program at Murray State is working to address challenges that exist for women faculty in STEM and SBS by utilizing three programs, ADVANCE Live, Learn and Grow. ADVANCE Live is addressing work/life balance by creating a President's Work-Life Task Force, educating the MSU community about existing policies, and creating/revising policies regarding workplace flexibility and spousal accommodation. ADVANCE Learn is producing an interactive theatre program with a view to reducing implicit bias on search, tenure, and promotion committees. ADVANCE Grow is addressing retention and leadership development by adapting JSU's writing retreats and UW's faculty workshops and continuing Murray State's peer mentoring circles. Our goal is to make institutional changes for women faculty at Murray State.
