CAUTION: This is unofficial information. Read the catalog for more information about MSU's grade and repeat policies. For non-repeatable courses, the FIRST grade is removed from GPA consideration.
Graduate GPA's are different from undergraduate GPA's which include all undergraduate courses. Graduate GPA's are based on the courses listed on the Program Form and are specific to that program. Graduate GPA's are not printed on the academic transcript.
- To calculate your GPA: Enter the grade received in the class and the number of credit hours of the class.
- GPA hours are those hours which affect the GPA. Courses with grades of R, W, WP, P, or AU do not accumulate attempted hours. Courses with grades of E, WE, I, and X do affect the GPA so they have attempted hours even though no hours are earned.
Semester and Cumulative GPA Calculator
This calculator will compute your GPA for a single semester or, if you know your current GPA and total number of credits, it will compute your cumulative GPA including these current grades. The grades are not case sensitive. It will also compute your new GPA after a semester's grades, providing you know your current GPA and the number of credits you've taken.
Target GPA Calculator
This calculator will tell you what GPA you will need for your next semester, year, etc. to reach a GPA goal. You need to know your current GPA and the number of credits you've already completed. Then choose a target GPA and a number of credits in which to attain that target.
